Display5 is a pure browser based application and as such offers tremendous flexibility with being able to embed web code and web links within your shows.
Use the "Link" widget if you simply want to embed a whole web page or website into a panel in your show.
Simply paste the Web address into the Link input field - including the HTTP:// or other site prefix, and then set a duration and background color for the slide and optionally, scheduling the slide. The widget will then open and display the entire web page into the window. Typically, the content from the website will be adjusted to fit the panel size, however you may need to adjust the width and height to find the optimal settings for the web page in the panel.
As well as being to add whole websites to your Shows you can also add a snippet of HTML code as well. This is particularly useful if you only want to embed a widget or a single web component from another site into your Show. The embedded code can be ANYTHING that is supported by the browser:video, animation, tickers, stock feeds, webcams and more. Any site that offers the embed option (Facebook, YouTube, Google Maps, Twitter, etc.) can be added to this slide.
If you already have code snippet, then you can simply click on the show/hide embed button and enter the code directly into the text input field. We also provide you with a range of sample embeds from other websites, such as video feeds, webcams, etc. Click on the "Open List" button to open a set pre-selected embed code items.
NOTE - we do not guarantee and support external feed content, nor do we
provide any broadcast license for this content.
If applicable, you will need to obtain the relevant broadcast
permissions for this information to be displayed in a public area.
You can also set the duration for this slide, as well as the background color and optionally, schedule the slide.
A transition slide is a powerful slide that can be placed into a play list in any panel and will force the current show to jump to a new show
You will be able to pick the show that you want to transition to from the drop down menu and you will also be able to schedule when this slide will kick in . This is especially useful if you want to have the show update to a new one at a specific time in the future. Adding additional transition slide to the next show would then allow you to go back to the previous show , and the transition slide would have then expired and no longer have an effect.
A very useful widget that you can add to your Display5 Show, is a pause or blank slide. This slide will effectively show nothing on the screen and will add a pause in the playlist of items in a panel.
This is especially useful when using the Free Design Show Creation. If the panel that has the blank slide in it, overlays another panel, the blank slide makes the foreground invisible for the duration of the blank side. For example: On the foreground panel, add a blank slide - set the duration for say 15 seconds and then add a slide with the content that will appear for a few seconds. The slide will then appear and disappear every 15 seconds as the play list cycles.Add as many pause or blank slides as you wish and give them the duration that you require.
